The Flux DEfense Brand & Products

1. What is the Flux Raider and how is it different from a traditional pistol or pistol brace?

Description for this block. Use thisThe Flux Raider is a premium, purpose-built chassis system that converts your pistol into a PDW (personal defense weapon) offering enhanced ergonomics, speed, and durability. It is currently available for the Sig Sauer P320 and P365 platforms, with the Glock and Ruger RXM versions on the way. space for describing your block. Any text will do. Description for this block. You can use this space for describing your block.

2. What is Flux Defense, and what products do you specialize in?

Flux Defense specializes in making duty-grade chassis systems that convert your pistol into PDW (personal defense weapon) style platforms.

3. What is a personal defense weapon (PDW), and where does the Raider fit in?

A PDW is a weapon system that’s smaller than a rifle or carbine, but larger than a handgun. The intended purpose of a PDW is to be carried or stowed in a discrete manner while still being able to outperform a handgun in most scenarios. The Raiders we offer fall into the PDW category due to being compact, light, concealable, and capable. You can learn more about what a PDW is and how they’re deployed here.

4. How is a Raider chassis different from a complete firearm?

With the P320 and P365 platforms, the FCU (fire control unit) is the serialized component that is considered the firearm. Our chassis system simply replaces the handgun grip module.

5. How does a pistol chassis system improve control or performance?

With the Raider allowing for up to four points of contact, stabilization is increased, which can result in faster follow up shots, tighter grouping, and better recoil mitigation..

Flux Defense chassis compatability

13. Which SIG P320 / P365 configurations are compatible with Flux chassis?

Most variants of the P320 and P365 are compatible with their respective frames.

14. What is the Raider 365 compatible with?

The Raider 365 is designed for use with the 9mm Sig Sauer® P365 platform.

Compatible Components:

  • All P365 FCUs (manual safety and non-safety versions)
  • Slides XL-length and longer (e.g., XL, XMacro, Spectre Comp)
  • All P365 triggers
  • 17-round magazines and larger

Incompatible or Not Recommended:

  • Standard-length P365 slides. These may have cycling issues and may damage the barrel shroud if used without a 6” barrel.
  • .380 ACP model of P365 is not compatible.

Notes:

Use the longest barrel available for optimal safety and performance.

15. What is compatible with the Flux Legion Raider?

The Flux Legion Raider uses the same chassis as the Raider X and supports all the same accessories, including mounts, braces/stocks, and other components.

Key Difference: It comes equipped with the ported AXG Legion slide, which offers excellent recoil compensation but is not compatible with threaded barrels.

To Suppress: You must swap the ported slide for a non-ported slide to run the Legion Raider with a suppressor.

16. Can I use aftermarket slides, triggers, FCUs, or barrels in a Flux chassis?

Most aftermarket components will work with our chassis systems. However, we do not recommend forward set or adjustable triggers for the P320 Raider X platform.

Threaded barrels will work. Any slide length will work for suppression; it is up to you how you would like to build it out. Please note that the Flux Legion from Sig Sauer will need a different slide in order to suppress it. The ported P320/365 AXG Legion slides are not compatible with threaded barrels.

18. Are ported/compensated barrels compatible?

Yes, ported slides and compensators can be a great way to mitigate recoil. However, with the Raider 365 aluminum and Ultralight models, the directed concussion can damage the shroud that is included with both models. If you use a compensator or ported slide on either of these, we recommend against using it with the shroud.

19. Which magazines are compatible?

For both the P320 and P365 Raider variants, you need the 17rd magazines or larger. If magazine size is restricted to 10 rounds in your state, you can use the 10rd full-size magazines for the P320 or the 10rd X Macro magazines for the P365. We recommend using OEM Sig Sauer magazines.

There are a lot of good optics out there that vary in price range, so it is hard to list them all. If you need help selecting an optic for your build, please contact our support team. The only confirmed optics that do have issues directly mounting is the Holosun AEMS (tight installation fitment) and Eotechs with the QD latch (The QD latch will get stuck on the optic mount).

21. Which mounting options and rails are supported?

Any traditional 1913 picatinny mount will fit onto the Raider X. This includes 1913 adapter plates for optics such as the RMR, ACRO, Micro footprint optics T1 or T2. ETC.

22. Are night sights or suppressor-height sights compatible?

Night sights are compatible as long as they are not suppressor height. Suppressor height sights will not work with the P320 Raider X. They will work with the P365 Raider models if you use them without the shroud or forward optic mount.

23. Do compensators, lights, or lasers fit within the chassis geometry?

The Raider X is capable of fitting most compensators on the market, the underside rail uses standard 1913 picatinny cut, so any 1913 pistol light will fit. Lasers and lights can fit onto the side picatinny rails.

24. Will manual safeties (thumb safeties) work with the chassis?

The P365 Raider models will work with the OEM manual safeties. The P320 Raider X will not work with the manual safety without modification to the frame. But don’t worry, the Raider X comes with a built-in trigger block safety.

Installation, Setup & Ergonomics

25. How do I install my pistol into a Raider chassis for the first time?

Installation is very easy. You will install your FCU and slide into the chassis the same way you would a standard grip module.

26. How do I safely deploy and collapse the Raider brace/stock?

By pushing the Raider out at arms length, you can activate the release lever/button with your index finger or thumb if you are left handed.

If you have the Raider X, be mindful of the brace/stock deploying straight back towards you. The release lever for the Raider X can be found above the pistol grip on the right side of the frame. To collapse the brace/stock, you’ll want to hold the release lever down, and smack the brace/stock with your opposite hand. Be sure to fully compress the stock back into the ejection spring until you hear an audible click.

For the Raider 365, the deployment button can be found on the right side of the frame, forward of the trigger. The brace will pivot out from the right side. Ensure nothing impedes the brace arms pivoting radius. To close the brace, press in the small underside button located on the bottom left of the beavertail. This will unlock the brace arm, and allow you to refold it back into the deployment button.

27. Do I need tools to install/remove the pistol from the chassis?

No, the firing control unit and slides require toolless takedown, unless you have a slide mounted optic/suppressor height sights. With the P365 Raider variants, if you use the FUSE slide, you will need to remove the shroud before taking down the slide.

28. Does the chassis change my pistol grip or access to controls?

Due to the geometry within the chassis, the grip tang does sit a little lower than a traditional handgun frame. The most notable change is in regards to the magazine release. Instead of the traditional button press inwards, the primary magazine is released by pushing the mag release button forward.

29. Will the mag release and slide stop operate normally?

The Magazine release is altered on our Raiders. With our patented dual mag speedload system, the magazine release needs to be pushed forward to release magazines, rather than being pushed inwards.

The slide stop will still operate as normal.

On the Raider X, we have a QD plate that can be found on the left side of the optic hood. This will accept any standard QD socket. An additional QD point can be found on the brace or stock. We generally recommend using a single point sling for the Raider. For most people, the best spot is going to be on the QD plate mounted to the frame.

Currently, there are no official mounting solutions for the Raider 365.

Generally speaking, a 25yd zero is sufficient. However, we recommend you figure out what zero will be best for your particular use case.

Performance, Accuracy & Use

32. How does a Raider-equipped chassis affect accuracy?

It allows for more points of contact on the frame, increasing grip and control. This grants significantly faster split times, follow-up shots, and improved accuracy.

33. Does the Raider shoot differently suppressed vs. unsuppressed?

Yes, all Raider variants are noticeably different when shot suppressed/unsuppressed. Shooting suppressed can result in more gas being blown back towards you, along with slowing down the cyclic rate of the slide.

34. What ammo types perform best in Raider builds?

This is case dependent on your build, for non suppressed builds, most common ammo types (both range and defensive ammo) will reliably cycle. Suppressed Raider builds may be a little more picky with ammo.

35. Are there specific reliability considerations for suppressed builds?

Short stroke/failure to feed/stovepipes can happen if your Raider is not tuned well.

36. Do I need recoil spring tuning when running suppressed?

For the Raider X, it is highly encouraged to use a nicely broken in 14lbs spring with most suppressors on the market.

For the Raider 365/Ultralight, we have not collected enough data yet to suggest the need for an aftermarket spring. For most suppressors, they work well with the 365X/365XL/FUSE slides OEM recoil spring, as long as it’s properly broken in.

37. Can I shoulder a brace-equipped Raider chassis?

In compliance with ATF regulations, you cannot shoulder a pistol brace. You can learn more about the current state of pistol braces here.

38. Do I need a tax stamp or SBR registration for a Raider chassis build?

If equipped with the standard pistol brace, you do not need a tax stamp for the firearm.

If using a stock on your Raider, you will need to register your firearm in accordance with ATF rules on short barreled rifles.

Local laws are regularly changing around pistol braces and chassis systems. We encourage users to confirm with local and state laws on pistol chassis before purchasing.

40. Does attaching a chassis convert my pistol into an SBR?

Using our Raider platform while equipped with the standard pistol brace, does not reclassify the pistol as an SBR.

41. Can I travel with a Raider across state lines?

Please check local and state laws for the state(s) you’re intending to travel to

42. Can I fly with a Raider chassis setup?

Please check local and state laws for the state(s) you’re intending to fly into.

43. Do Flux Defense products comply with NFA/ATF regulations?

Yes, our Raiders strictly follow ATF regulations in regards to classification for pistols. All Raiders ship standard with a pistol brace.

Suppressors, Barrels & Gas Systems

44. How do I suppress my Raider?

ost 9mm and multi-cal pistol suppressors work with the Raider X, though tuning will most likely be required.
We recommend using an XCARRY or compact-length slide for best results.

Key Components for a Suppressed Setup:

  • Lighter Recoil Spring: Improves cycling with backpressure
  • Booster (Nielsen Device): Essential for tilt-barrel systems
  • Ammunition: Subsonic or standard pressure preferred for consistent operation

With the right configuration, suppressed performance is smooth and reliable.

Here is a good video on suppressing the Raider: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOdtj_b2iII

45. Are there setups that Flux does not recommend suppressing?

No

46. What barrel length works best for suppression?

For the Raider X, we recommend the 3.9” compact/X Carry size slide. For the Raider 365 variants, we recommend any of the 3.7” slides.

47. Do I need a special recoil spring or tuning for suppressed use?

For the Raider X, it is highly encouraged to use a nicely broken in 14lbs spring with most suppressors on the market.

For the Raider 365/Ultralight, we have not collected enough data yet to suggest the need for an aftermarket spring. For most suppressors, they work well with the 365X/365XL/FUSE slides OEM recoil spring, as long as it’s properly broken in.

48. Do suppressors require different optics or sighting solutions?

No

Training, Handling, Safety & Maintenance

49. What maintenance does the Raider chassis require?

We recommend disassembling your slide and FCU for traditional handgun cleaning from time to time. Additionally, we suggest applying a drop of lubricant inside the ejection rail channels on the Raider X on occasion.

50. How should I clean or lubricate a Raider-equipped pistol?

You should clean your Raider setup as you would any other handgun.

51. What spare parts or wear components should I keep on hand?

The Raider platforms do not have any parts that should be continually replaced due to wear. However, if you need parts, please contact our support team.

Regardless of platform, we highly encourage familiarizing yourself and becoming proficient with it before using it for defense.

53. Do you recommend any PDW-specific training drills or courses?

Lots of dry fire and live fire to familiarize yourself with our chassis.
